Huawei Honor 9 sales hit 1 million target in less than a month

Honor’s President Zhao Ming has revealed via a Weibo video post that the Huawei Honor 9 sales hit 1 million units in less than a month.

According to the post, the Honor 9 shipments surpassed 1 million units in just 28 days and the President of the company mentioned that they plan to increase productivity while sticking to the high quality the brand is known for. Note however that this number is only for the Honor 9 shipments in China and does not include the sales in Europe which are also thriving.

The Huawei Honor 9 features a 5.15-inch 1080p display and is powered by a Hisilicon Kirin 960 chip with 4GB /6GB RAM as well as 64GB /128GB internal storage. The phone also has a 3200mAh battery and a dual 20MP + 12MP dual camera similar to the Mate 9 and Huawei P10’s but without the Leica branding.

Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong announces they are developing an AI processor

Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong announced at the 2017 China Internet Conference that Huawei is developing an AI processor just like Qualcomm and Mediatek.

The new trend for tech companies now is smart electronics with built-in AI assistants.

Qualcomm announced a number of new smart audio chips last month and Mediatek’s voice chip unveiled recently powers the AliGenie smart speaker of Alibaba Group.
